James John High School 1910-1922
When James John died in 1886, he willed that his estate be used to build a High School. However, the will was contested by James Johns' sister and niece. Thomas J. Monahan was appointed to ensure that enough money was left over to fulfill James Johns' wish for his estate. James John High School opened in 1910. In 1915, the City of St. Johns was annexed by the City of Portland. In 1922, Portland replaced James John High School with Roosevelt High School.
James John High School published yearbooks in 1911, and 1916 through its closure in 1922.
